CAPTAIN 2018

Mr. Will Stewart

Will’s love of golf began 25 years ago when as a junior golfer he first joined Halifax Golf Club.

Our Captain has represented both Rabbit and Tiger Club league teams and currently plays off a modest handicap of 13. Two ‘aces’ here at Halifax are the highlight of a largely unremarkable golf ‘career’ so far.

In 2016 Will completed 72 holes in a day and is planning on going even further in 2018 attempting to complete 6 full rounds (108 holes!) to raise money for local charities.

When not on the Course Will enjoys time with his Wife Kirsty and 5 year old Son Charles (who’s already a better putter than him!).

Will’s always keen to talk to members and visitors alike about their day at Halifax Golf Club - just don’t ask to borrow a putter!

LADIES CAPTAIN 2018

Mrs. Julie Le Pelley

Julie came to golf later in life after retiring and wanting a new challenge. What Julie lacks in skill she makes up for in enthusiasm. Her vivacity has allowed her to make many very good friends within the Ladies section of Halifax Golf Club.

When not on the golf course Julie enjoys practicing yoga, gardening and travel. Alongside her husband, Mr Past Captain and Chairman, they love spending time with their son Chris, and daughters Jeanette and Lynsey and of course their wonderful grandchildren.

One of Julie’s main focus points for her year is to encourage ladies to ‘give golf a go’ and hopefully fall in love with the game too!

RABBIT'S CAPTAIN

Mr. Matthew Adams

My name is Matthew Adams or to this masses Matty Adams.

I joined Halifax Golf Club as a complete beginner, just a year after my friend Gez or Mr. Captain joined.

It was Gez who persuaded me to join and he will probably be the reason I leave!

I am looking forward to my year as Rabbits captain and I appreciate it is going to be a busy one. The fact that my old friend Gez is the club Captain means it is going to be memorable to say the least. I am hoping my golf will improve enough to reduce my handicap, while keeping my bandit label. The signs for this season are already positive, with new members joining our club at a good rate and I wish them all the best. This also goes out to our current members.
