VISITORS TO HALIFAX GOLF CLUB
LOCAL RULES AT HALIFAX GOLF CLUB
1. OUT OF BOUNDS (Rule 27)
a) Beyond any boundary wall or fence.
b) Beyond any line of white stakes bounding the course.
c) One or over the road to the left of the 13th hole.
d) One or over the road to the left of the 15th hole; then in or beyond the boundary ditch to the left of the 15th hole.
2. WATER HAZARDS (Rule 26-1)
The streams at the 1st, 5th and 10th holes and other drains and ditches defined by red posts, or, where Water Hazard relief is not possible are Lateral Water Hazards.
3. Players may take relief from footpaths without penalty, except those footpaths within a hazard marked with red or yellow stakes.
4. STONES IN BUNKERS
Are moveable obstructions. Rule 24.1 applies
5. Penalty for breach of local rule:
Match Play: Loss of hole.
Stroke play: 2 shot penalty.
Health and safety Advice:
a) Appropriate footwear must be worn by everyone on the course.
b) Players and spectators should be aware of the danger of players driving off from the 1st and 18th tees and the 3rd and 4th tees (double fairways).
c) Please take added care when green keepers are on the course.
d) When it is wet or frosty please try to avoid steep slopes.
e) If you observe any further hazards or dangers on the course please inform the Professional or Director of Golf.
f) On the public footpaths which cross the ourse, walkers have right of way.
g) Due to the nature of the sport, Halifax Golf Club Ltd. take no responsibility for any injury caused by play on the course.
d) Buggies are taken on to the course at the risk of the hirer.
